もち米とうるち米で作った生地に小豆あんを包み、こんがりと焼き上げたものです。
浄妙尼（じょうみょうに）という老女が不遇の日々を送っていた菅原道真公を哀れみ、餅に梅の枝を添えて贈ったのが由来と言われています。
備考 ・冷凍の餅をラップのまま電子レンジ（500W）で、餅1個の場合は50秒、2個の場合は1分30秒、3個の場合は2分程温めた後、ラップを剥がしてオーブントースターで3分程焼き上げると、こんがり焼きたての風味が味わえます。
